A Society Grows Great

FILMS

A Society Grows Great is a short animated film that is centred around an old Greek proverb. It tells the short story of a man called Charles Hargreaves who is reflecting on life and wondering what advice he can pass on to the young folk in his local village. The visuals were captured in Unreal Engine 5 and the voice over was brilliantly delivered by Paul Casselle. Animation, writing, music and editing was completed by Phil Brooke.

The Passing of Time

The Passing Of Time is a four minute short film that was created using the Unreal Engine. The atmospheric short follows a lonely rock that lands on planet Earth after many years of floating through space. It then witness' millions of years from the age of the dinosaurs, to humans and even the end of the planet itself. The idea of the film came from the idea of someone or

something witnessing the end of the Earth and the idea evolved from there. The original score

was written and recorded by Liz Lister. The film was edited in Avid Media Composer and the sound was mixed by sound engineer Steve Brooke.

Abandoned at Sea - David Conway’s Story

Abandoned at Sea - David Conway's Story is a documentary film telling the story of a young man who was torpedoed in the Second World War. Originally interviewed and filmed in 2004, the footage on tape was digitised and cut together with 2D animated visuals to tell David Conways story. The original idea was to release the digitised interview in its raw form but it came apparent that parts of his story would work nicely with some image overlays and subtle animations. That then lead to this eight and half minute documentary. The film was edited in Avid Media Composer and the original music was recorded in Logic Pro.

A Cosmic Journey Home

A Cosmic Journey Home is a one minute short that takes the viewer on a brief journey

through the solar system. Every shot is computer generated and created using After Effects and Video Copilots Orb plugin. The piece was partially an experiment to see if digital visuals and a reflective piece of music could work

together to give a sentimental view on our solar system. Editing was completed in Avid Media Composer and the music was an original piece written and recorded in Logic Pro by Phil Brooke.
